Department of mathematics conducted a seminar competition on “Application of Mathematics” on behalf of National Mathematics Day on 30th December 2021, as a tribute to Shri. Srinivas Ramanujan.
The event was presided over by Sri Gundappa Gowda (President), Sri Vishwanath (Secretary), Sri Shaila Ramannavar (Treasurer) of Vidyavardhaka Sanga and Dr. B Sadhashive Gowda (Principal) and Dr. Bhaskar N (HOD Mathematics).
The event coordinators nominated by the department were Prof. Deepthi K M and Prof. Goutham C, Assistant Professors, Department of Mathematics.
The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp from all the dignitaries invited, and the almighty was invoked by Prof. Vishnu M, Department of Mathematics. The event was followed by inviting all the dignitaries to the dais and the judges of the event were formally invited. All the dignitaries delivered their thoughts and expressions on Shri Srinivas Ramanujan and his contribution in the field of mathematics to the audience.
Higher semester students of all disciplines of engineering actively participated in the event. They presented the audience and judges the applications of mathematics in their disciplines of engineering. This made the students aware on the importance of mathematics in the numerical analysis of the conceptual knowledge of their engineering domain. The judges were extremely satisfied with the topics chosen by the students and the delivery methods adopted.
The event was held from 9:00am to 5:00pm with series of presentations from the students and the judges allocated marks for each of the presentations and the winner Anirudh Ramesh is from Department of Mechanical engineering. The second and third runners Amrutha A and Srinandan Y Sastry were from AI&ML and Mechanical departments respectively.
The event was concluded with prize distribution to the winners and vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Goutham C, Department of Mathematics. The photos of the event are below:
