The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering started in 2004. It offers B.E and Ph.D. programs. The Department aims at providing quality education to the students. The department has well qualified & dedicated faculty members; 16 Teaching Staff, 5 Technical Staff and 3 Supporting Staff.
The Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for a period of 3 years – academic year 2022-2023 to 2024-2025(up to 30.06.2025). The Institute secured autonomous status, from the batch of 2020-2024.
The Department has faculty members from various specializations in Electrical and Electronics. 5 Faculty members have completed their Ph.D. Faculty members are deputed to attend seminars, workshops and conferences to gain exposure towards current trends and research activities being carried out in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Faculty members publish research papers in National & International conferences and have authored Textbooks and Book chapters. Faculty members also undergo Industry Immersion Programs to gain further expertise in their areas of specialization.
The Department organizes invited talks, workshops and industrial visits for all the students to enhance their theoretical and practical skills and competencies.
There are 3 student clubs namely, VEEE-SPARC, E-SPIN and Ecliptic Creators Hub which promotes research activities, leadership and entrepreneurship qualities, project development and societal awareness. Hence the Student members of each club get a good exposure on practical learning as well as soft skills also Energy Management Center for Consultancy and Training.
Students of our Department have Secured 7 ranks including first rank from the VTU (twice). We have received grants from VTU and KSCST for student projects and have also been awarded best project by KSCST.
The Department is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories with excellent computational facilities. Some of the special equipment include: Synchronous Machine, D.C Machine, Transformers, Relays, High Voltage, Modules of Controls, Modules of Power Electronics, and Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, PLC & HMI, Alexandra Volta Center for Battery & Energy Storage and Fluke Power Quality Analyzer etc.
The program is designed to meet the needs of Electrical Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Control Technology, High Voltage Engineering, Electrical Machines, Drives etc.
Graduates of Electrical and Electronics Engineering get an opportunity to work in core electrical companies in the field of design, manufacturing, maintenance, Students can pursue higher education in the field of Electrical, Electronics, Management and Computer Applications in Electrical and Electronics.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

The department has adequate and spacious classrooms, each equipped with LCD projectors and Impartus Lecture Capture solution.
